A vibrant sense of community at The Sticks Kilcunda

THE six boutique retail pods interconnected by an infill of open spaces known as The Sticks Kilcunda are holding their grand opening to the Bass Coast community this week welcoming an influx of support for the sensitively crafted precinct.

Manager of the complex Lauren Russo shared that three of the stores opened their doors for a soft opening yesterday (Wednesday, December 20) including Pod 1 - Udder & Hoe, Pod 6 - Cove Boutique and on the Terrace - Licca Lucca from 1pm until 5pm.

The others including Pod 4 - Hair Vision by Holly - Bookings by appointment and in Pod 3 - Sophie Fletcher Designs is holding a summer pop up 10am-5pm until the January 31.

Stores open Friday, December 22 are a summer pop up in Pod 2 – Copper Door Kilcunda open 10am-5pm until January 31, and in Pod 5 - Above and Beyond Bookkeeping which is by appointment.

“We had a wonderful turnout with a beautiful energy shared with locals,” said Lauren.

The precinct was designed by a local collaborative of award-winning creatives – Branch (architects), Orchard Design (landscape architects) and The Set (design & interiors).

For decades, Kilcunda has been Bass Coast’s own little secret – a sleepy picturesque coastal town, visitors would stop for coffee, enjoy the view, and pass through on their travels.

Locals have long been aware of Kilcunda’s unique energy and cultural pull. In recent years there has been a shift that suggests the secret is out, with the town emerging as a popular destination for travellers.

A series of landscaped external spaces link together to form a town square of sorts, a space to linger with a latte, chat with a neighbour, engage with community events, pick up locally produced goods; or partake in some retail therapy.

The Sticks Kilcunda offer short-term pop-up style opportunities for local and non-local designers and creatives and will also offer a variety of programs and events catering to the ever-expanding coastal village. For leasing or general enquires email: info@thestickskilcunda.com
