1 min read

THREE young offenders were brought to a halt half a kilometre outside Leongatha yesterday on the Strzelecki Highway after evading police in Traralgon.

Its alleged police attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle in Traralgon around 1.30pm, however, were unsuccessful with the vehicle seen heading south on the Strzelecki Highway with three people on board.

Police managed to track the vehicle as it went through Mirboo North, without the use of AirWing, which allowed local police to successfully deploy stop sticks along the highway near Berrys Creek.

It’s understood the vehicle continued for a period after the tyres were punctured and became erratic on the road before finally coming to a stop just outside Leongatha to the east at 2.20pm

Three young offenders aged 14 to 16 years old were arrested and interviewed by police.

The offenders were released pending court at a later date.

Any witnesses in townships or those driving along the Strzelecki Highway between Leongatha and Traralgon who have information or dashcam/CCTV footage that could be helpful to police are urged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or make an anonymous report at crimestoppersvic.com.au/report-a-crime.
