GREAT news! Gardivalia will open on Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26.

Wander through 16 beautiful gardens across Baw Baw Shire. Visit ‘Tall Timbers’ in Piedmont (only open Sunday), walk through an expansive garden of many acres in a natural bush setting with additional plantings of many exotic trees and shrubs around water features. Last chance to see this garden.

Up at Icy Creek, you will find ‘Meander’, a seven-and-a-half-acre garden showcasing rare trees and shrubs against a backdrop of large eucalypts and mountains. Meander through the kitchen garden, mixed borders and woodland paths.

Explore two gardens in Willow Grove, ‘Lakeview’ and ‘Dot’s Garden’. View the beautiful views of Blue Rock Lake from ‘Lakeview’, old machinery displayed, roses on trellises, watering pond, camellias, an enclosed small orchard and over 70 deciduous trees.

‘Dot’s Garden’ started as a farm and now has 58 small garden beds and many wonderful, varied and amazing sculptures to see. Willow trees, crepe myrtles, roses, ornamental cherries, flowering gums, elms, magnolias and more. Views look east to the mountains.

Visit the ‘Old Neerim Schoolhouse’ in Neerim, established in 1902 and rich in local history with expansive gardens, abundant produce and stunning views.

‘Laurie Collins Sculpture Garden’ at Jindivick has over 60 metal sculptures predominantly made from recycled material in an acre among garden beds and trees, as well as ‘Red Tree Gallery’.

In Drouin, visit ‘Lois’ Garden’. For those who want to know more about succulents, this is for you. Full of succulents and cacti, mosaics, sculptured decorations and creatures, low maintenance.

Visit ‘My Ross’ at Brandy Creek. A newer garden created from a bare paddock since 2021 with pathways, rock walls, roses, border plantings and a small lake, which form the structure. Stunning north views to the Baw Baws.

In Warragul, you will find ‘Wrens Wood’, ‘Rustic Charm’, ‘Fiona’s Garden’ and ‘Warragul Community Centre’.

Walk around ‘Wrens Wood’, a four-and-a-half-acre garden with something of interest for every season. Oaks, gums, maples, conifers, roses, buddlejas, rhododendrons, camellias, fruit and nut trees, a vegetable and berry garden, ferns, a forest of vines and ferns and hundreds of orchids.

‘Rustic Charm’ has many rustic, eclectic mixture of plants, crafts, arts and mosaics on display. Especially for those wondering what to do with a small space.

‘Fiona’s Garden’ has compost-making demonstrations at 11am. Many garden rooms on one acre with a show garden at the front and permaculture, vegetable and orchard in the back. Bee hives and berries.

The ‘Warragul Community Garden’ (only open Sunday), where people share gardening experiences, grows produce, flowers, fruit and herbs with beehives and a cubby house.

On Bloomfield Road, eight kilometres north of Warragul, visit ‘Carlisle’ and ‘Darley Grange’. ‘Carlisle’ is a colourful country garden with a number of unusual and cleverly made water features, vibrant roses, seasonal perennials and stunning views.
