Nyora Pharmacy offers expanded range and better deals under Amcal

NYORA Pharmacy has transitioned from an independently owned and run store to Amcal, with the official opening celebrated last Wednesday, with a community BBQ, face painting and 20 per cent off storewide.

By coming under the Amcal brand, the pharmacy will be able to offer more choices, better deals and cheaper prices for consumers.

Amcal also offers a lot of additional health services on site, such as vaccinations, medication checks and Webster packs for example, making it easier and more convenient for people to keep up to date with their health and medications.

“The offer that we have for the community from the pharmacy, would be enhanced because they’ll have a whole new range of products. Not just the Amcal products but a whole new range of perfumery and cosmetics that haven’t been available to us previously. So that’s pretty exciting,” said co-owner George Spyropoulos.

“We didn’t have a loyalty club previously, so that will be available to us with different discounts and different offers for customers.”

The pharmacy has been serving the local community for the best part of a decade and Nyora-born and bred man, 84-year-old, Don Garnham, thinks it’s a pretty good thing.

“This is one of the best things that’s ever happened around here,” he said, going along to join in the celebrations and have a sausage.

George remembers Don being one of their first customers – popping his head in the door and asking what was going on – when they first opened.

The store has developed over the years into a community hub, and has seen a refurbishment, with a café added and a post office all in one convenient and welcoming place, for locals and travellers alike to stop in.

Co-owners of the Amcal pharmacy George Spyropoulos and Sam Shalabi said the changeover will provide better value for their existing customers and are hoping the expanded range and services will attract new customers from the greater area.
