GIPPSLAND Women’s Health and Phillip Island Community and Adult Learning Centre (PICAL) are partnering for Women’s Health Week 2025.
With a free community event in Cowes on Friday, September 5, local women will be provided opportunities to increase their confidence in prioritising their own health and wellbeing.
Women from across the region are invited to come together to connect, learn and celebrate the importance of looking after themselves physically, mentally and emotionally.
Guest speakers will include Dr Carmen Brown from Magnolia Women's Health, Kristine Miles, Women’s Health Physiotherapist at Balance Health, and Michelle Jobson of the Go Girls Foundation.
Set to share professional advice and real-life experiences, the guest speakers will cover topics including perimenopause, menopause, physical wellbeing and the importance of community connection through programs like Go Girls.
Aligned with the theme of Women’s Health Week 2025, ‘Say Yes to You,’ the event will support women to put themselves first and explore local services and support networks available to them.
Kate Graham, CEO of Gippsland Women’s Health, says the event demonstrates the power of local organisations coming together to support women within their own community.
"When women are supported and have access to good healthcare and wellbeing initiatives, it benefits them and the whole community. This event is about starting conversations, breaking down barriers and giving women in Gippsland the opportunity to come together and prioritise their own health and wellbeing needs.
“This partnership between Gippsland Women’s Health and PICAL shows that together we’re committed to making sure local women feel informed, connected and can access the care and support they need. It's also a step forward in building stronger, healthier communities across the region."
