Reece Mastin performs at Inverloch Sunday Sessions supporting Veterans

2 min read

AUSTRALIAN artist Reece Mastin is gearing up for a regional appearance in Inverloch as part of the Sunday Sessions at The Inlet Hotel - a live music event raising funds and awareness for veteran support.

Following the success of last month's launch event, next Sunday, August 17, promises to be even bigger, with Reece teaming up on stage with talent Tristan Ross for a high-energy, heartfelt performance supporting a cause close to home.

“Tristan is fantastic—so when he mentioned this one, I was jumping at it.”

Veteran advocate Mick Quinn and his wife Fiona have supported veterans since 2003, offering everything from medical claim assistance to food relief and emergency accommodation and all proceeds from the event will directly support their vital work.

For Reece, the chance to combine music with purpose is a no-brainer.

“Any kind of charity work—I'm in,” he said. “I've faced my own tough times in a different way, but any chance to help make life better with some music? I'm there.”

Fans can expect a mix of Reece’s classic hits and newer tracks—though he laughs that the more intense material might stay off the setlist for this one. “I’ve got new music coming out, but I probably won’t be playing that just yet,” he said.

“We’ll be playing a bunch of my songs, the ones people know, keeping it upbeat and fun.”

Reece and Tristan will team up for much of the night, with both sharing the stage throughout.

“There’s only two of us, but Tristan plays drums with his feet while shredding on guitar—it’s going to be very, very fun,” he said. “We’ve sent each other the set, and we’ll run through it together. He might hop up before me, but we do almost all of it together.”

The Inverloch show also marks a bit of a change for Reece. “I don’t think I’ve played in Inverloch before,” he said. “I’ve done gigs all over, but this will be a first—which is rare for me! So, it’s something new for me and the audience, which is great.”

With more focus on mental health, homelessness, and veteran challenges, Sunday Sessions is more than just a gig—it’s a grassroots effort to raise voices, raise funds, and drive change.
