WORK is about to start on the installation of 24 planter boxes along McBride Avenue as part of the Wonthaggi streetscapes project from Watt Street to Murray Street.

The planter boxes have been designed help reinvigorate the character of Wonthaggi by adding colour and life along the street and creating attractive areas to support comfortable outdoor dining experiences.

Planted with a selection of multi-coloured, hardy, drought resistant, low maintenance Australian Natives the planter boxes will provide a traffic barrier to protect pedestrians.

Installation of the planter boxes is expected to start in mid-October on Sundays to minimise disruption and should be completed within two to three weekends.
