The shape and style of the massive community building on the corner of Thompson Avenue and Church Street has, naturally, attracted a lot of comment locally, some complimentary, some not.

Progress on the community centre through June has included:
- Brickwork ongoing to northern elevation.
- Plaster works ongoing throughout.
- Solar panel installation ongoing.
- Function Room, Amenities and Grand Hall services rough in nearing completion.
- Window frame installation ongoing.
- Library and Office Services rough in ongoing.
- Fire pump installation ongoing.
