Constant rain prompts road flooding warning

1 min read

The Bureau of Meteorology is advising that Pound Creek near Inverloch has had the highest daily rainfall overnight of 33mm.

Rainfall has also continued to fall almost unabated throughout today (Friday), which has led to extensive flooding across major roads and farm paddocks throughout South Gippsland and Bass Coast.

Authorities are warning motorists to take extreme care on the roads and to drive the conditions.

The unrelenting rain of the past week has impacted playing fields and local golf courses. At the Korumburra Golf Club, they’ve banned carts this Saturday, July 1 “due to saturated course conditions”.

The Men’s Monthly Medal and Women’s RB MM will be held for walkers who want to play.
