Swept out at Kilcunda 'retrieving a pair of sunglasses'

THE dangers that exist for swimmers at Kilcunda surf beach, one of the state’s most treacherous locations, was underscored on Friday night, January 12, when a man drowned trying to retrieve a pair of sunglasses.

Emergency services responded following reports a man had been swept out to sea, in the vicinity of the Bourne Creek Trestle Bridge, on Friday 12 January about 8.30pm.
