1 min read

THE Wonthaggi Fire Brigade was called to a blaze allegedly set by mischief-makers in Biggs Drive Wonthaggi on Thursday night, September 29.

A Sentinel-Times’ reader contributed the following:

“A fire was put out at Biggs Drive Bus stop near Woolworths carpark ON Thursday night, September 29 at 10.55pm.

“The fire was spotted by locals and fire brigade was called. The fire truck came through the Big W carpark from the Wonthaggi Fire Station and after seeing the bright orange flames in the dark of the night, the lights on the fire truck came on. Upon arrival the fire was put out in seconds.

The fire truck left the scene at 11.03pm. There is no known reason as to how the fire began.

“Upon further inspection after the fire was put out, the remains seem to have been cardboard box on wheels, possibly a trolley or some sort.”
