ON Wednesday and Thursday of this week, Westernport Water will be carrying out a routine inspection of the under-bridge pipes, brackets, and fittings. An Under Bridge Inspection Unit (UBIU) will be used for the inspection.

Works will only take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day, to limit traffic interruptions around school and work traffic and to minimise the inconvenience to the public as much as possible.

Spokesperson for Westernport Water said traffic management will be in place to ensure safety for staff and the public travelling across the bridge.

Over the past week Westernport Water have notified all affected stakeholders including local schools, Vline, Vic Traffic alert, Bass Coast Shire, Bass Coast Health and Emergency Services, local traders’ association, Phillip Island Nature Parks, Parks Victoria, Wildlife Coast Cruises and Newhaven Yacht Squadron.

Variable Messaging Signs (VMS) have been erected at both ends of the bridge to alert drivers in the lead-up to the works. For more information, visit  https://www.westernportwater.com.au/our-community/projects/current-projects/san-remo-bridge-bracket-renewal/
