BASS Coast Breakers left it all out on the park at Frankston on Sunday when they played off against Warragul Industrials in the Division Two Grand Final for the South Eastern Women's Football League.
Breakers had a lot of the play in the first half but could only manage 5 points to Warragul's 2.1.13.
But they came on strong in the third quarter to level the scores at the last change, with goals by Stacey Poke and Ella Cargill.
It gave the local girls plenty of belief as they gathered for the final words of wisdom by coach Bianca Helmut-Pask, who urged the girls to drive themselves for a further 20 minutes and it was certainly "game on" up and down the ground for the first 15 minutes of thje last quarter with no scores either way.
Dusties had the ball on their forward line more and it was almost inevitable that the umpires would find a free kick close to goal, they did and the captain Carlee Maher kicked the go-ahead goal.
Dusties' ruck Jess Szalek kicked an important point when she grabbed the ball out of the pac k and close to the siren, there was to be no Breakers' comeback a second time.
Final scores: Warragul Industrials 4.2.26 defeated Bass Coast Breakers 2.7.19.
