FISH, Elyse and crew are ready to welcome everyone at the Korumburra Middle Hotel from 12 pm on Good Friday, with raffles, fundraising games and the annual auction supporting The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH).

Entertaining SEJ auctioneer Jimmy Kyle will again take charge of the auction, which will commence at approximately 2.30 pm.

“Plenty of local businesses have donated items,” co-owner Ben ‘Fish’ Fisher said.

AFL players Cody Weightman (Western Bulldogs) and Nick Watson (Hawthorn) have contributed signed jumpers, with Weightman unable to attend but happy to add a personalised message to the jumper and mail it to the buyer.

For those wanting an escape from the daily grind, there will be accommodation vouchers up for grabs, including a couple of nights at the Chapter Barn in Outtrim with a harvest platter and a bottle of wine.

There’s even an opportunity to bid for a two per cent share in a racehorse.

Lightly raced three-year-old filly Stelletta, trained by Shane Nichols, is described as “ready to win her maiden and progress through the grades”.

Five-year-old gelding Great Prosperity, trained by Luke Oliver, has achieved two wins and seven placings in his 16 starts, having placed in all of his last five races.

Those keen to bid on a share in either horse should study the details of ongoing fees.

Local legend Tommy Brown will be busy selling raffle tickets and entries for the digital Easter egg race, the person with the winning egg earning a cash prize.

Tommy Brown will be selling raffle tickets again.

People can also try their hand at Sticky Golf, hitting sticky golf balls at a wall, with a point-scoring system allowing them to win prizes.

There’ll also be a competition to guess the weight of a crayfish.

“Every chef’s special that’s bought, we donate a dollar, and a percentage of drink sales will be going towards the cause,” Fish said, referring to an arrangement for specials having run for the past couple of weeks.

Good Friday footy between North Melbourne and Carlton gets underway at 3.15 pm, with Fish a supporter of the Kangaroos.

With the weather not expected to be suited to the deck, this year’s event will be held in the bistro.

Regular buyer Jack Gilchrist enjoys last year’s auction.
