LABOR’S claim they understand what country communities in drought are going through is disingenuous at best and if you truly consider the impact of the ongoing emotional cost drought has on morale it is cruel.
They are increasing spending on mental health but in regional areas, Labor are increasing the chances of suicides.
Poor battling farmers are going to pay more land tax than a billionaire in the city. How is this fair Labor are treating us like second-class citizens.
The surplus Labor announced in the budget is exactly the amount the new land tax is raising. Labor has put us in this financial hole so don’t try and drag money from people to cover your stuff ups.
If we did this on our farms banks would sell us up. We haven’t caused this so why do we have to pay?
All these cost blowouts on major projects will never be used by regional people so why are we the worst hurt by the land tax? Charge the people in the city who will benefit.
On top of all this, we are missing out on regional road funding while city areas seem to have no funding limits.
What about some proper funding for drought relief in South Gippsland? Have heard nothing from our local member the silence is deafening.
