What do you get when you mix celebrated Gippsland winery Momento Mori and hit Northcote Georgian wine bar Gray and Gray for a shared long-table dinner? A Spring Supra.
On Saturday 18 November, it’s time to indulge in the famed feasting traditions of the Caucasus region. In Georgia they call this kind of feast a supra, and this dinner will be true to its inspiration. The table will be full of dishes from around Georgia, the feasting enriched by traditional polyphonic singing by the group Tsinskaro, fresh from some time in Georgia, where they honed their craft over many a supra. The fun will be led by a tomada, the traditional toastmaster who guides the table through the feast, introducing the songs and their provenance and making sure the toasts are flowing.
