Dive into Fishy Stories this Saturday, a day of creativity and storytelling

COME to the Fishy Stories Festival this Saturday, November 15, for a one-day celebration of storytelling magic in Fish Creek!

A full program of free author and illustrator workshops runs throughout the day, alongside Box Wars, the creative art of destruction, the Invy Horn Jam Band bringing their own special kind of magic, Myli Libraries’ My Stories tent, and bubbles galore.

This year’s special performance features Dr Hubble, a whole heap of bubbly fun with his extraordinary bubble creations. This is the festival’s only ticketed event, taking place in the Memorial Hall at 12.30 pm. Tickets are available now via trybooking.com/DGHKV.

An authors and Illustrators session will kick off with an author panel discussion hosted by Alison Lester, one of Australia’s most beloved children’s authors and illustrators known for timeless classics such as Magic Beach, Are We There Yet?, and Noni the Pony.

The Real Pigeons creators — author Andrew McDonald and illustrator Ben Wood- are so popular that they are hosting two workshops. The team have captivated readers worldwide with their hilarious mystery series.

Andrea Rowe, local award-winning author of Jetty Jumping, is bringing her new book, Castle Crushing and will share stories and activities from her coastal adventure.

Twenty stories from the 2025 Writing Challenge will be performed by the amazing FAMDA at 10.45 am and 2.00 pm, with Picture Stories on display all day.

The Fishy Stories Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration of storytelling, creativity, and community.
