EACH year Bass Coast Shire Council commissions a new public art piece in varying locations around the Shire but a graffiti attack on the Sound Shell at The Glade in Inverloch is definitely not street art.
Inverloch residents and businesses have already expressed their dismay at the damage which must now be cleaned up by council and paid for by ratepayers.
Public art in Bass Coast Shire includes a Newhaven Public Art commission awarded to renowned Australian artist Geoffrey Bartlett for a proposed sculpture titled Alpha, Love and Precious Things by Joe Donohue at Cape Paterson, and clusters of small permanent lights linking the townships of Coronet Bay, Corinella, Grantville and Pioneer Bay.
