Holiday fun at Myli Libraries

1 min read

Korumburra Library was a hive of lively industry on Wednesday as a large turnout of children and accompanying adults made stickers and books in which to display them.

The ‘DIY Sticker Book’ session, part of Myli Libraries’ school holiday program, was designed to allow kids to be as creative as they want, library programs team member Rochelle Quigley said while running the session.

The flexible approach meant some participants, such as Lily Wyhoon and Charli MacDonald, created their own sticker designs, while others cut out provided images, with Rochelle explaining either approach is beneficial for improving young people’s motor skills.

Young local Harlen Greaves took the cutting out approach to sticker creation, his mum Erin pitching in to help with sticker selection and placement in the book.

Proudly holding up his book, Harlen pointed to a red car when asked which sticker is his favourite.

He also took a fancy to the dinosaurs.

Page 42 of the Sentinel-Times recently released Discover guide details the various Myli Library sessions and other school  holiday activities, with library sessions including a Dinosaur Drawing Workshop, Clay Mosaics, Kaleidoscope Making and Cordial with a Cop.
