Mark & Sylvie’s Home Care finalists for prestigious HESTA Excellence Awards

ATTICUS Health, a leading healthcare provider known for its innovative approach and its dedicated home care division, Mark & Sylvie’s Home Care, are proud to announce they have been named finalists in the highly esteemed 2025 HESTA Excellence Awards for “Team Excellence in Aged Care.”

This national recognition celebrates their groundbreaking work in fully integrating health and social care services for older Australians.

The nomination highlights Atticus Health’s unique Simple, Emotive, Aged Care Model (SEAM), a comprehensive system designed to enable seniors to live happily and independently in their own homes for longer. SEAM addresses the long-standing issue of fragmented care by seamlessly connecting General Practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals, personal carers and dedicated Home Care Managers.

“We identified a critical need to bridge the gap between medical and social care, as older patients often struggled with disconnected services,” says Dr Floyd Gomes, Founder, CEO, and GP at Atticus Health.

“Our team, including key leaders like Hilde Aschehoug (national operations manager, Mark & Sylvie’s Home Care) and Deb Rice (operations manager, Atticus Health), alongside our GPs, allied health professionals and carers, has worked tirelessly to build a truly integrated system. This HESTA nomination is a testament to their unwavering commitment and the profound impact they are having on families across generations.”

The impact of SEAM is evident in its remarkable outcomes:
• 92.3per cent client satisfaction on health and wellbeing metrics, as reported in voluntary surveys.
• An exceptionally low voluntary staff attrition rate of 7.5 per cent, significantly below the industry benchmark of 35 per cent, reflecting high workforce satisfaction.
• Rapid growth, with Mark & Sylvie’s Home Care expanding from zero to over 210 clients in under three years.
• A strong 4.7 Google rating, with client reviews frequently praising the benefits of integrated care.

Should Atticus Health be successful, the prize money will be invested directly into training motivated personal carers to become accredited Allied Health Assistants, further enhancing the integrated care model and expanding workforce capacity, particularly in rural areas where allied health staff are scarce.
