Mary MacKillop’s Liam Smart earns VCE Premier’s Top Honours

Congratulations to Liam Smart who has been recognised in the Premier’s VCE Honours roll  for outstanding academic results in 2022.

Liam completed his VCE at Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College at Leongatha. Liam was recognised for outstanding excellence in Information and Communications Technology (VCE VET).

The annual Premier’s VCE Awards recognise the top-performing students in Victoria. This year, 300 students across 88 subjects were recognised with awards for their outstanding results.

Mr John Freeman, Principal of Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College, said the school community congratulated Liam who also achieved Dux of the College in 2022.

“Liam is a gracious, respectful and thoughtful person who was willing to ask for help when needed and showed determination to reach his potential. The Mary MacKillop Catholic College community is proud of all that Liam has achieved and wish Liam all the best of success in his future endeavours.”

Mr Paul Velten, director of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Sale, commends Liam on his achievement saying it is a reflection of his hard work, dedication and perseverance.

“I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of all the teachers and staff at Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College who contribute to students' success. Their commitment to providing a nurturing learning environment to support each student to reach their potential plays a crucial role in shaping the achievements of all students throughout their learning journey from Year 7 through to Year 12.”
