Stony Creek set for festive start to the racing season

THE countdown is on for the Stony Creek Racing Club (SCRC) 2025/26 summer racing season, with the highly anticipated Brandt Christmas Races kicking off on Sunday, December 7.

As the first race meeting of the season, the Christmas Races promise an exciting return to country racing for the region, bringing together families, friends, work groups and racegoers to celebrate the festive season in true country racing style.

SCRC CEO Jason Benbow said preparations are well underway, with upgrades and improvements across the grounds ensuring an exceptional start to the season.

“We’ve been busy doing upgrades around the grounds ahead of the first race meeting. Everything is looking fantastic, and we can’t wait to welcome the community back to the track,” he said.

The Christmas Races will deliver an unforgettable day out, with something for everyone. Kids can enjoy Santa’s Workshop, pony rides, face painting, and interactive activities, while racegoers enjoy live music, food trucks, and the relaxed atmosphere that makes Stony Creek so unique.

Racegoers can bring their own picnic setup or choose from a range of packages available, including private marquees, picnic tables, umbrellas, and bean bags. With something for everyone, the Christmas Races offer the perfect opportunity to gather with friends, family or your work team to kick off Summer and celebrate the festive season.

The 2025/26 Summer Racing Season includes five race days, culminating in the much-loved Ladbrokes Stony Creek Cup Day on Sunday, March 8, over the long weekend.
