Tarwin Lower & District help available on Sunday to get fire ready

1 min read

TARWIN Lower & District Fire Brigade welcomes community members to an Open Day this Sunday October 5 between 10am and 2pm to help them ‘Get Fire Ready’.

People are encouraged to drop in and chat to their local CFA volunteers about cleaning up their property, creating a fire plan and where to get emergency information by downloading the VicEmergency app.

The brigade will have a range of information available, including help to understand emergency warnings, knowledge of local fire risks and demonstrations.

There’ll be a sausage sizzle.

“Connecting with our community is vital for our ongoing relationships but also to ensure our area is well prepared for a major emergency,” Tarwin Lower & District Captain Mick Moore said.

“Fire safety is a joint responsibility, and we need the community to do their part in assisting us so we can continue to protect lives and property.

“It’s important for residents in high-risk areas to be aware of their local dangers so they can act accordingly.”

The CFA encourages Victorians to know where to get timely information during an emergency.

Please download the VicEmergency app, set up your watch zones to your residential and travelling location, and listen to local emergency broadcasters such as the ABC.
