The Shane Warne Legacy Heart Health Machine in full swing at Leongatha RSL

THE Shane Warne Legacy Heart Health Machine has been stationed at the Leongatha RSL for a week as part of National Heart week, following negotiations, the Heart Health Machine will spend another week at the RSL Club to encourage members of the community to take advantage of the free service that may save your life by picking up early detection signals that will encourage you to investigate further.

Already numerous community members have taken the chance to undertake a quick four minute test and get the results emailed to them directly.

Conveniently located and equipped with privacy screens for those who may feel hesitant, the machine offers straightforward instructions that everyone can easily follow. The health check stations assess your risk factors for cardiovascular disease by measuring the following:

  • Blood pressure
  • Heart rate
  • Body composition
  • Diabetes risk

Results are displayed immediately on the screen during the test and can also be accessed via the SiSU Health app if you choose to download it. You can share these results with your GP for further consultation, and they will be saved in the app for your future reference.

This is the first time that the Heart Health Machine has been stationed in Leongatha and is the only machine that is easily accessible for residents of Leongatha and South Gippsland/Bass Coast.

Following on from the success of the machines at the recent Boxing Day Test and the AFL Gather Round the Shane Warne Legacy Heart Health Machine is proving to be a great tool to assist those that are interested in how their heart and body is performing but may not wish to visit their GP to find out. The results coming from the machine may well be the prompt for you to visit your GP and prevent what could be a very serious medical episode.

The machine is stationed at Leongatha RSL until May 19 as part of Health Week and Leongatha RSL Community Connections program. It is available to all members of the public and no bookings are required.
