NOW in its 30th year, the beloved Blyth family Daffodil Bulb drive has reached an incredible milestone - raising an estimated $420,000 since its inception for Allied and Community Health services at West Gippsland Healthcare Group.
This year’s effort was no exception, with the 2025 drive raising an impressive $19,625 supporting a range of local programs and services.
The funds raised support services and resources right across West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) including; physio and occupational therapies, social work, diabetes education, community health services in rural communities, and services to support individuals with chronic or complex health conditions, disabilities, or those recovering from a hospital stay.
The Blyth Bros Daffodil Farm in Ellinbank is one of Australia’s largest daffodil producers, growing more than 100 varieties on their 350-hectare farm. Their generous donation of 40,000 bulbs this year, which were available to purchase at local businesses and WGHG healthcare locations across the region.
WGHG Acting Allied and Community Health Director Sally Wilson said, “The impact of the drive over the thirty years it’s been running is varied and far-reaching. We’re extremely grateful to receive the proceeds year after year, allowing us to purchase equipment and resources that have enhanced the care we provide across multiple programs.”
