Two Bass Coast teenagers arrested after stabbing in Wantirna South

DETECTIVES charged three teenagers after a stabbing and affray in Wantirna South on Monday, July 7.

It is alleged that an altercation took place between a group of teenaged boys at a shopping centre on Burwood Highway in Wantirna South about 5.30pm.

One boy sustained serious injuries, consistent with a stabbing, and was transported to hospital.

All others involved in the incident allegedly fled the scene before police arrival.

Detectives from Eastern Region Crime Squad, with assistance from the Knox and Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Units, arrested three teenaged boys on Wednesday following a thorough investigation.

A 17-year-old from the Yarra Ranges area has been charged with intentionally cause injury, theft of a motor vehicle, affray and assault.

A 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from the Bass Coast areas, have been charged with more than 10 offences including robbery, affray, assault, theft of a motor vehicle, attempted aggravated burglary and intentionally cause injury.

All three appeared before the children’s court on Thursday and were remanded to reappear at the end of July.
