With a record crowd in on Saturday, Spanish racer Marc Marquez takes the win in a dramatic 2026 Phillip Island Sprint Race after title rival Jorge Martin crashed out with a broken bone in his arm.

AUSTRALIAN MotoGP organisers have further delayed track action at Phillip Island until at least 1pm today, Sunday, October 25.

After a day full of action on Saturday, with a record 45,000 people in the house, Spanish racer Marc Marquez won a dramatic 2026 Phillip Island Sprint race while title rival Jorge Martin crashed out with a broken bone in his arm.

So, with potentially the biggest crowd in recent years turning out for a grand finale to 30 years of MotoGP racing at Phillip Island’s famous circuit, doubts are being raised about any racing taking place there today as the rain keeps tumbling down.

It's a far cry from the weather that greeted visitors and riders on the Homecoming Ride on Thursday.

This notice from the race organisers:

“Due to reduced visibility affecting the medical helicopter’s ability to fly, Sunday's MotoGP track action at the Red Bull Grand Prix of Australia will be delayed until conditions improve, with track action not commencing before 13:00 local time.

“In addition, MotoGP Warm Up has now been cancelled. Another update will be published at 12:30 local time at Phillip Island.

Keep an eye on MotoGP's social media channels and on motogp.com for the latest.

There looks to be no let-up in the rain arriving at Phillip Island on Sunday.
