It’s a long way to come to go kiteboarding

A passing seagull gets in on the act.

IT’S the second time that Adri Kunz and Teddy Meller have found their way to Inverloch’s Anderson Inlet to go kiteboarding but when the wind and weather is right, there’s no better place in the world and they should know.

The pair hail from snowbound Zurich in Switzerland, where there are a couple of lakes close by but without allowing the freedom to make the most of the conditions that Anderson Inlet provides, also with the option of trying out the waves on the bar.

“It’s fantastic. I’m moving to Melbourne soon,” says Adri, which is true.

Teddy is just visiting but has also been making the most of the conditions.

“We’ve been here one time before and we’ve also heard about Sandy Point as well but it’s already great here,” said Teddy on coming out of the water after dozens of exhilarating runs along the channel between the shoreline and the huge sandbar between Inverloch and Point Smythe.

“We’ll be back,” they said as they loaded up the car and headed for their temporary home back in Melbourne after one of the best days of summer so far.

The wind and the conditions were perfect for kiteboarding and also windsurfing on Anderson Inlet last week, with the area one of the go-to-places in the state for kiteboarders and windsurfers.
