Parry’s devastated by break in

ANOTHER business in Wonthaggi has been cruelly targeted by thieves with Parry's Jewellery and Watches hit twice recently.

The store has been forced to close this week due to the damage caused.

Owner Scott Parry said unfortunately the glass front door and cabinets inside were all smashed meaning he is unable to open until replacements arrive.

“I’ve lost a fair bit of stock, I’ve got days and days of going through stock to actually figure out what’s gone,” he told the Sentinel-Times.

“And figure out what direction I want to go in the future.”

As a result, Mr Parry will be significantly upgrading security to the store, but the incident has taken a huge toll.

A number of expensive watches and jewellery items were also stolen.

“I may have to have a serious think about what I do with the shop,” he said.

“I may focus more on repairs instead of sales.

“But I don’t know, once I’ve sorted out all the security it might not look so daunting.”

He remains unsure when he will be able to reopen but is hoping it will be soon.

The Sentinel-Times is making further inquiries with local police.

Wonthaggi Toyota was also targeted recently where vehicles valued at more than $300K were stolen.
