NEW sales representative with Alex Scott and Staff Leongatha, Tony Giles, describes his new role as the “right fit” for both him and the organisation.
He sees the fourth-generation family ownership of Alex Scott very much like his former involvement in the family newspaper operation, which also spans four generations.
“To have a member of the Scott family in the business, fourth generation Tom being a current director, speaks volumes about the stability and hard work ethic which the company has as its foundation,” Tony said.
“A company doesn’t survive the highs and lows of more than 130 years in business without a solid base with the broader community.”
With a career spanning 40 years in the newspaper industry with The Great Southern Star and Yarram Standard, Tony brings with him experience on several levels.
His involvement in journalism will assist with the construction of strong property profiles during the listing stage.
His interest in marketing and advertising for business clients will be a good fit for pointing out the attributes of a listing and understanding customer needs.
“It was sad to see The Star and Yarram Standard not able to keep going through COVID but the industry and way people communicate their message is changing all the time. The advent of digital marketing is making it hard for traditional print media.”
Tony is very much a people person and has been involved in a several local organisations over the years including the Stony Creek and Leongatha Football Netball Clubs, the Leongatha Business Association, and Leongatha Cycling Club to name a few.
“I’ve covered a lot of events over the years including agricultural shows, football grand finals, the Daffodil Festival, car shows, Lardner Field Days and the Tarra Festival.
“You get to meet a diverse range of people over the journey which I really enjoy. I think it will help me develop a solid rapport with clients in real estate which I’m really looking forward to.”
Tony begun on Monday, February 6 and can help clients with enquiries regarding residential, commercial and industrial property sales, along with rural lifestyle properties and dairy and beef farm sales.
