Restless rockers bound for the Westernport

San Remo audiences will soon get the chance to hear new music from Melbourne alt-rock band ‘Among The Restless’ when the group plays its first Westernport Hotel show on Saturday, December 12.
Local band ‘The Foxy Junes’ will provide main support, and Melbourne’s ‘The Satts’ will also join the bill as ‘Among The Restless’ tours its debut album, ‘Seasons’.
For band member Lachie Dunn, bringing original music to smaller regional towns carries a lot of personal significance.
“Regional shows are always important to us, especially myself, as I grew up in a country town and original live music was something we missed out on often, so to feel like we can give back to small communities feels great,” Dunn said.
“The crowds are also awesome in regional areas, they know how to have a good time.”
And the band is bringing plenty of new material with them on their visit.
Due out on October 30, ‘Seasons’ follows the group’s 2022 debut EP ‘Define’ and its 2023 follow-up, ‘All I Want Is Everything’.
The band recorded the album over a year and a half at Melbourne’s Sing Sing Recording Studios, co-producing it with Thomas Keating, who also handled engineering and mixing. Matthew Redlich mastered the record.
Its final single, ‘6 Years Of Madness’, draws on personal struggles Dunn has faced, combining the band’s alt-rock roots with a sound influenced by 2000s Australian indie music.
But the Westernport set will include more than just the new release.
“Expect lots of new material being played off our debut album 'Seasons' and some oldies as well,” Dunn said.
Formed in 2019, Among The Restless has already completed three East Coast tours and a regional Victorian tour.
The group also opened Melbourne’s Good Things Festival in 2022 after winning its Battle of the Bands competition.
Their upcoming San Remo appearance forms part of the ‘Seasons Tour’, which begins in Wollongong on November 19 before heading to Sydney and Canberra.
The Westernport show is for audiences aged 18 and over, with tickets available through Oztix.
