Croquet success for Virginia

1 min read

VIRGINIA Wheeler travelled to Cairnlea, the home of Victorian Croquet, on the weekend of April 5 and 6 to compete in the RNB Odd Socks Golf Croquet Singles event.

Playing in Block B, Virginia came up trumps, winning all of her six games – well played.

The Victorian Croquet Association Golf Croquet Singles Championships were held from April 11 to 13, also at Cairnlea.

Tom Lacey and Sue Baker attended this event in official capacities with Tom refereeing on the three days and Sue assisting with the scoring and general administration.

The members do get out and about.

The in-house Twilight competition concluded on Tuesday, April 22, with the top four decided.

In the semi-finals to be held on the April 29, Cool Cats will face the Offsiders and the Butternut Pumpkins will be up against the Wild Cards.

This should be a great day with the crowd to be expected in the 10s at least.

The final is to be held on May 6.

Tongue in cheek, a separate grandstand may need to be erected for this event.

The club days are Monday, Wednesday, Saturday from 10.

Anyone is very welcome to come and join us on any of these days.
