Day of the tutus at Grand Ridge Rail Trail parkrun

1 min read

THE weather put on a show for the Grand Ridge Rail Trail on Sunday and so did the participants with 49 walkers, joggers and runners wearing lots of colourful tutus.

Among the fast finishers were Paul Krausz, Steve Quirk and Leon McDonald.

Achieving personal bests were Patrick Ruyter, Paul Ashton, Hilary Dorling, Arica Smith, Cecily Vuzem, Gail Smith and Arica Smith.

A big Mirboo North welcome was extended to first timers Ronald Dyer, Ros Dyer, Chantal Luci, Leonie Clarke, Robyn McCulloch and Margaret Rowley.

Daniel Smith completed his 100th parkrun cheered on by visitors who drove all the way from Werribee picking up friends along the way. Ronald Dyer completed his 50th run.

Frank Krausz, Julia Groves, Carmel Quirk, Anne Holland, Margaret Rowley, Alan McKenzie, Georgia McIlwaine, Deidre Kruze, Laura McIlwaine, Greg Smith, Helen Reeves and Peter Reeves all volunteered on the day.

The next Parkrun Tutu Day will not be until August 2026, but another Grand Ridge Rail Trail parkrun will be held next week for more fun, fitness, and community frolics.
