INVERLOCH resident Frank Bugeja has done it again, proving that last year was no fluke, taking out the Australian Masters Squash Championship title in his age group once again.

Frank recently returned from the Australian Masters Squash Championships in Perth after a very successful fortnight of competition, winning the Australian Masters Men’s Open Championship 80-84 Years.

Frank also won the event last year in Canberra.

Frank, a very fit 82 year old, who runs the Poowong Squash Club competition on a Monday and Wednesday night and plays competitively in all the Victorian Masters Tournaments held around Victoria every few months.

The Australian Masters Squash Association (AMSA) Interstate Teams Series was also played in Perth and Frank’s team came runners-up in their division.

Frank’s motto is, “You have to keep doing what you can, while you can.”

The Poowong Squash Courts are open from 6.30pm on Monday and Wednesday nights and players of all standards are welcome.
