IT’S that time of the year again, and with no sign of beach weather yet this summer, local tennis tournaments at Korumburra January 3 & 4 and at Leongatha January 6 & 7 could be just the ticket for active youngsters.
And there’s still time to enter, see the tournament flyer and entry form at http://www.southgippslandtenniscoaching.com/tournaments
“Our tournaments are fun, with lots of matches guaranteed and you will improve,” according to tournament coordinator Matt Pocklington, head coach of South Gippsland Tennis Coaching.
“We run these tournaments for you and we hope to see as many locals as possible participating
“And don’t let the word ‘tournament’ worry you, it’s actually a great experience and we also offer a fun family doubles event at the Leongatha tournament, so bring your mum, dad, sister or brother along.
“On top of that, we are running an all-inclusive tennis camp from January 3 to 8 which includes both tournaments and so much more. Please inquire for more information.”
There are eight tournaments in the Gippsland summer of tournament series, as follows
- January 3 & 4: Korumburra Tennis Club
- January 6 & 7: Leongatha Tennis Club
- January 13: Warragul Tennis Club
- January 14: Westernport Tennis Club (San Remo)
- January 17: Wonthaggi Tennis Club
The Korinne District Tennis Association will hold its tournament on Saturday, February 17. The venues will probably be Inverloch and Wonthaggi. This is open to all juniors who are members of the Saturday morning competition with the KDTA only.
