Round16 saw the Leongatha Knights welcome Wonthaggi SC to Mary MacKillop College with the day kicking off with a fantastic game between the U12 Girls sides.
The Leongatha U12 Girls started strong with some excellent defending from Maggie and Liberty.
Fantastic midfield play from Samara, Katelyn and Iris ensured that their opponents had plenty of pressure as they tried to attack.
Hannah and Jess made some terrific runs up front with some great support from the midfield. Halftime saw the home side only down one.
The Knights returned to the pitch, eager to continue their great play. They have been working hard on their passing and positioning in training and it showed in their fantastic passing combinations.
Maddy had a brilliant run up front, dribbling and sending the ball forward. Though the game ultimately went Wonthaggi’s way the Knights can be proud of how far they have come over the season.
Player of the day went to Charlotte who played her first game as goal keeper and pulled off some truly spectacular saves.
