U12 girls
The Under 12 girls played out a great first half heading in 2-2 at halftime thanks to Alice’s two goals. A better Inverloch side piled on the goals in the second half but not without many Korumburra chances in a very competitive and end to end game, a great game of skill and teamwork providing one the girls’ best game, this year.
U14s
U14s played a spectacular game. They pulled out all the stops for a 5-3 win against a team who made them work hard. It was so encouraging to see all of their individual skills coming into play. Liam and his relentless speed and terrific ball skills saw him score four amazing goals. The brother duo Huxley and Rohan also using their skills to score a great goal from a beautiful assist. Ben is fast becoming a great asset on defence with a strong ability to boot the ball down the field. Chelsie also showing her fierceness in goals. Everyone should be proud of their game.
Under 12 mixed
Great first half by Korumburra kicking a goal to equalise, Inverloch then scoring another goal to go into half time with 2-1 lead. Second half was the hardest fought out for the year with neither team scoring. Korumburra had a lot of shots on goal but was unable to convert. A great team effort and showing a lot of improvement.
U15 girls
With the sun shining and spirits high, the Under 15 girls took to the pitch against Drouin in a hard-fought match. Despite trailing 1-0 at half time, the team rallied in the second half with a fresh burst of energy. Determined and focused, they turned the game around with two impressive goals, sealing a well-deserved 2-1 victory.
U17s
Under 17s had a point to prove after going down to Inverloch 5-4 in the first half of the season. Burra came out firing on all cylinders Quinn with a hattrick Jonah, Japheth and Sandaru a force in the middle. Talon and Denzel superb in defence. A 6-2 victory keeps a slim finals hope alive.
Senior Womens
In a spirited showdown between Korumburra and the Inverloch Stars, both sides brought passion and determination to the pitch, putting on an entertaining display for spectators.
From the opening whistle, Inverloch applied early pressure, testing Korumburra’s defence with a string of attacking plays. But the home side responded with strength and resilience, creating several chances of their own and keeping the Inverloch keeper on her toes. Inverloch were the first to find the back of the net, but Korumburra hit back with a well-earned equaliser, showcasing their skill and teamwork. A late goal in the first half saw Inverloch take a narrow 2–1 lead into the break.
Korumburra returned to the field with renewed energy in the second half, determined to level the scores. Sharp passes and forward runs kept them in the contest, but Inverloch managed to capitalise on an opportunity and extended their lead. An unfortunate injury left Korumburra with no subs, forcing the team to reshuffle. Despite this setback, the side showed incredible heart and unity.
Their perseverance paid off late in the match with a deserved second goal, closing the gap and keeping the pressure on right until the final whistle. While the 3–2 result went Inverloch’s way,
Korumburra walked away proud—having played with courage, skill, and an unshakable team spirit.
Senior men’s
On a perfect day for football, Korumburra City welcomed Inverloch Stars to Richard Street Oval. Korumburra took a deserved lead midway through the first half, with Jake Allman heading in at the back post after some neat play and a cross by strike partner Smith.
Shortly after the break, Hayden Simmons doubled the home team’s advantage linking up with Smith and stroking the ball past the visiting keeper. Hayden Smith blasted a spot kick into the top corner to make it 3-0, swiftly followed by Burra player/coach Podi scoring with a dipping shot from 25 yards out.
Smith finished off the scoring with a powerful strike from inside the box, 5-0. An excellent team performance to a man from Korumburra.
