Nyora Raceway double header to start off the season

THIS weekend, over Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19, Nyora raceway hosts a double header - starting the new season with some of the local classes.

Starting off with the youngest competitors who are the next superstars, Nyora Raceway have the likes of local kids Cruz Abela, who lives in Nyora, competing against some of his mates, Kade Robertson, Nathan Miles, Jackson and Tyson Heaphy, as well as some kids from further out - these kids put on some good shows.

There is also another section with the upcoming kids who race in the smaller cars, including the VSC 1200 class. These kids also put on a good show with some family competition with Eliza Taylor up against her cousins, Cruz and Ryder Taylor.

This season, there are a few kids from the other side of the city joining, which are the likes of Ruby, Roary and the newest Driver to the class, Zeke “Rooster” Warren.

On the day, Nyora Raceway have other classes, including Open, Ladies and Junior Standard salons. On the night, Sports sedans have a good field so far with 14 cars and the current club champion competing in the likes of Chris Aarts, who is back to defend his title, coming up against some strong competitors.

Racing starts at 4:30 pm. Tickets are available at the gate or through Facebook.

Trish Dike of Nyor Raceway said they follow this meet up the next day with the youngest competitors in the sport. “Including our very own ¼ midget kids, ages start from five right up to 16, and racing starts at 11 am.

“Local boys, the O'Brien Boys competing in three different sections this year, and our very own littlest kid in the field, Dayne Reddecliffe, will debut his kart running for the first time in this class. Come on down and support the littlest kids. We have lots of fun to be had.”
