Thompson Ave roars to life

1 min read

FAST becoming a tradition for the Phillip Island Classic is the Cowes Car Show on Friday afternoon (March 8). Starting at 4pm and stretching through to mid-evening (8pm).

But this isn’t just any car show. The event, proudly presented by Bowden’s Own and held in association with the Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motorsports and the Bass Coast Council, is a free car show centred on the main drag of Cowes.

In attendance each year are several classic historic race and road cars that are sure to get the blood pumping. Some of the cars even make their way straight from the track!

This year’s Phillip Island Classic – Festival of Motorsport will be celebrating 50 years of the mighty L34 Torana and as part of this celebration, we will have a gaggle of race-prepared L34 Torana’s on show at the Cowes Car Show as well as a collection of Group C race cars.

Thompson Avenue will be shut down to all traffic for the duration of the event to give onlookers the chance to get up close and personal with these magic machines.

Also on sale at the event will be merchandise and discounted Sunday race tickets!

So grab your sunhat, camera and kids and head along to Thompson Avenue

The 2024 Phillip Island Classic Festival of Motorsport will take place this weekend (March 8-10) at the famed Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. Tickets at the gate. Patrons under 17 years of age are free to enter if accompanied by an adult.
