WONTHAGGI martial arts junior Marisa Rinaldi has come home with three gold medals from three separate disciplines at the Eastern Region Invitational Taekwondo Championships in Doncaster.
Convened by the Australian Korean Martial Arts Academy the championships attracted competitors from twelve clubs in Melbourne’s eastern region and Gippsland.
Marisa Rinaldi from Heenan Taekwondo was named best overall athlete at the event and won gold in the Red-Black Division, Sparring, and Team and Individual Forms.
Heenan Taekwondo took eleven sparring fighters to the competition including two para-athlete boys, the youngest aged fourteen and finished runners-up in the medal count with fifteen gold, five silver and one bronze.
