Vikings and Storm Crowned Champions in thrilling PIDDL Grand Finals

MONDAY night saw a spectacular end to the P.I.D.D.L. (Phillip Island and District Darts League) season, with a fantastic turnout from members witnessing two action-packed Grand Finals and a spirited Wooden Spoon playoff.

The atmosphere was electric as darts flew and champions were crowned!

In the highly anticipated A Division final, the Vikings proved their mettle, securing a decisive 5-2 victory over Joe’s Hornets.

The Vikings, who have enjoyed a dominant season, showcased steady and precise dart-throwing throughout the Grand Final, cementing their well-deserved championship title.

Their consistent performance all season paid off, and their victory was met with cheers from their supporters.

The B Division Gumboot Final was an equally thrilling affair, with the Storm emerging victorious over the Breakers with a 5-2 win.

It was a high-pressure match with results that could have gone either way in many legs.

Despite the loss, the Breakers had a solid season, showing significant improvement.

They’re definitely a team to watch, with expectations high for them to come back even stronger next year.

In the hotly contested Wooden Spoon playoff, the Dart Vaders threw their way to a win, meaning the Mustangs are the ‘unlucky winners’ of the wooden spoons this season.

While no one wants to take home the spoons, the game was played in good spirits, adding to the night’s entertainment.

The excitement didn’t end on the dartboard!

The much-anticipated San Remo Butchers meat tray raffle was won by Miramar’s Dave Raso, affectionately known as “Iceman.”

The league will now take a well-deserved break for a couple of months before the spring competition fires up.

Members can also look forward to the trophy presentation day, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, August 10.

The time and venue for the presentation are still to be confirmed, so keep an eye out for updates.

What a fantastic end to a memorable season!
