Bass Coast’s toughest tradies set to clash at San Remo

The highly anticipated Bass Coast Toughest Tradies amateur boxing event has been locked in for Sunday, December 6 at the San Remo Recreational Centre.

Twenty local tradespeople are trading the job site for the squared circle, stepping into the ring across 10 high-stakes amateur bouts. For these first-time competitors, the evening represents the culmination of a gruelling physical journey.

To ensure a fair and competitive field, entry has been strictly limited to those with no previous registered fight experience. Every fighter has been precisely matched by weight and will have been pushed to their absolute limits through a comprehensive 16-week training camp that began back in August.

Now, after months of sweat, discipline, and roadwork, they are finally ready to showcase the results of their sacrifice. The tournament is a winner-takes-all format where ten victorious tradies will raise their hands, but only one will walk away with the ultimate crown, the official championship belt.

However, the excitement doesn't stop with the local workforce. Once the tradie bouts wrap up, the sporting spectacle will shift gears to showcase some of the state's brightest rising stars.

Five additional elite amateur boxing bouts have been added to the card bringing top-tier fighters from all over Victoria to the San Remo canvas. Local fight fans can rest assured that the night will meet the highest standards of the sport.

The entire event is officially sanctioned and presented by the Victorian Amateur Boxing League (VABL), which is working hand-in-hand with respected local institutions Murphy's Boxing Gym and Box Safe to ensure a safe, professional, and thrilling environment for athletes and spectators alike.
