Breaking: Police take down armed 'sleeper' in Wonthaggi

POLICE cordoned off a residential area of Wonthaggi in the early hours of Saturday, morning September 19, after reports that an armed man had been discovered sleeping in a car in the area.

The north-east residential area was blocked off by police with reports that some residents were instructed to remain in their homes until the potentially volatile situation was neutralised.

The scene is now all clear.
