One of Cowes’ best ‘Carols by the Bay’ they say

Fireworks on the Cowes foreshore.

THE family fun organised by Phillip Island Voice on the foreshore in Cowes on Tuesday night this week, the ‘Carols by the Bay’, was one of the best-ever, they say, with the weather ideal, plenty of free activity for the kids and lots of great acts on stage.

Starting at 5pm with children’s rides, a petting zoo, the highlight of which were two cute little pigs and a baby goat, face painting, and the arrival of the jolly man himself, Father Christmas (courtesy of the Phillip Island RSL) for ‘Santa Photos’, followed by carols and musical treats on stage, all went off with a bang… a fantastic fireworks display.

And for once, the hundreds of cars seemed to get away without a fuss.

So, to Phillip Island Voice, its many sponsors and volunteer helpers, together with the SES, St. John Ambulance, CFA, police and other emergency services in attendance – a big well done!

For many people, especially the district’s youngsters, it’s the second-most eagerly-awaited night of the year, just behind Christmas itself, so thanks again – see you next year.
