LAST week Newhaven College Prep students celebrated 100 days of school. Students and their teachers, Kerryn Lynch and Karen Faulwetter, got into the spirit of the celebrations, arriving at school in their ‘100’ themed costumes.
Preps were given the task to decorate their clothes with 100 items. The imagination and creativity that went into creating their outfits are a testament to the dedication of their parents and loved ones. Clothes were adorned with 100 buttons, 100 stars, 100 eyes, 100 pom poms, 100 beads, 100 gemstones, 100 hearts, 100 lollipops, 100 cherries, 100 cats and even 100 balloons on the house from ‘Up’!
Dressed in their costumes, the Preps proudly paraded through the Junior School high-fiving Year 1-4 students. They then met up with their Year 6 buddies to continue the celebrations.
As the day progressed, students competed in sports activities and completed several literacy and numeracy activities that involved the number 100. It was a wonderful way to recognise their achievements and make learning fun. As part of the celebration, students indulged in some fairy bread with 100s n 1000s and made special crowns to wear with their buddies.
The College is proud of its Prep students, who have established strong foundations for future learning, adapted smoothly to school routines, and embraced the joy of making new friends. They are confident, active members of the Junior School and thoroughly enjoyed their special day of celebration.
The next Prep Information Session and College Tour will be held on Wednesday, October 15. Contact the Admissions team at admissions@newhavencol.vic.edu.au or call 5956 7505 for more information.
