Wonthaggi’s biggest scare at the State Coal Mine

1 min read

HALLOWEEN may never be the same again after a visit to the Halloween display at the State Coal Mine in Wonthaggi.

On the weekends of October18 and19 and October 25 and 26 from 10am to 1pm expect to see the unexpected as the grim reaper, vampire and a witch stand side by side in the old railway carriage.

There’s something for everyone to enjoy and it’s free according to Vampire Tracey.

Located in a restored railway carriage near the underground entrance to the State Coal Mine the theme for the scary Halloween exhibition is mystery and adventure.

The exhibition will end with a family Halloween night from 4.30 pm to 6.30pm on Friday October 31 with a trick or treat for the children to enjoy.

Activities will include a spooky train carriage open between 5pm and 7pm, a sausage sizzle, face painting and popcorn.

Children, family and friends are encouraged to dress up in their scariest costumes.

The Wonthaggi State Coal Mine Cafe is open daily from 9am to 4pm with the State Coal Mine itself open from 10am to 4pm daily.
