A WOMAN in her 30s has been taken to hospital after her car flipped on the Bass Highway this afternoon between Wonthaggi and Inverloch.
It's understood a car slowed to turn into a property along the highway with the two vehicles behind subsequently pulling out to go around the vehicle. The third vehicle has clipped the second vehicle causing it to flip and roll down the embankment.
The female managed to extract herself before emergency services arrived and was taken to hospital for observation.
The driver of the third vehicle remained on scene and assisted police.
The highway is currently closed in both directions (3.15pm) but its understood it will open again soon to limited traffic after the vehicles are removed.
