ROB Parsons, The Gurdies, got to the nub of the issue in last week’s Sentinel Times, in his article headed ‘No more woke councillors’.
There are too many special interest groups, political parties and religious groups, who are pushing ideological agendas that do nothing but divide us into tribes or disparate assemblages, where the greater good of society is undermined.
We have a never-ending proliferation of so-called communities, all promoting their own societal importance, when in fact we ought to be highlighting the fact, we are one community, the Australian community, encompassed under the one flag, the Australian flag, working for the greater good.
If the silent majority remains silent, then it won’t be long before the lifestyle, productivity, health and enjoyment of a way of life, once deemed commonplace and an entitlement, will be irretrievable.
Rob, I’ll take your 65 per cent of ratepayers being in agreement with your view and see you to 80 per cent of the folk that I communicate with being of a similar outlook.
It would have been good if Rob Parsons had nominated for Council in this latest attempt to uncover quality incumbents to service the community and guide Council management.
