Liberals and Nationals to fund new pumper truck for Inverloch CFA
If a Liberal-Nationals’ coalition wins government in Victoria on November 28, they will fund a new fire truck pumper for the Inverloch Country Fire Authority (CFA), replacing the brigade’s ageing 27-year-old vehicle.
IF A Liberal-Nationals’ coalition wins government in Victoria on November 28, they will fund a new fire truck pumper for the Inverloch Country Fire Authority (CFA), replacing the brigade’s ageing 27-year-old vehicle.
During a visit to the fire station last Saturday, Gippsland South MP Danny O’Brien, Eastern Victoria MP Melina Bath and Bass Liberal candidate Rochelle Halstead promised the Inverloch Fire Brigade would receive a new truck under the Liberals-Nationals’ $200 million CFA truck plan
This is set to include 335 new CFA trucks and 17 new and upgraded CFA stations.
Leader of the Nationals, Danny O’Brien said regional Victorians had been let down by Labor for too long.
“Under 12 years of Labor, our regions have been neglected, and emergency services are no exception,” said Mr O’Brien.
“Our CFA volunteers do an incredible job, but they need the right equipment and resources to keep our communities safe.
“This commitment is about making sure Inverloch gets its fair share.”
Liberal candidate for Bass, Rochelle Halstead said the new pumper truck would be an important investment in the safety of the local community.
“CFA volunteers put themselves on the line to protect Victorian communities, and they deserve equipment they can rely on when emergencies strike,” said Ms Halstead.
“Inverloch’s current pumper truck is 27 years old. Our emergency services volunteers should not have to rely on ageing equipment to do such an important job.
“A Jess Wilson-led Liberal and Nationals Government will stand up for regional Victoria and deliver the practical investments our communities need.”
Member for Eastern Victoria, Melina Bath said the commitment would ensure local CFA volunteers had the modern equipment they need to protect their community.
“Local CFA volunteers are there for our community when we need them most. They deserve modern, reliable equipment to help them do their job safely and effectively,” said Ms Bath.
“Only a Liberal and Nationals Government will give regional communities the support and investment they deserve.”
Following a recent announcement by Mr O’Brien, new Foster Fire Station funding has been locked in if the coalition parties win the election.
A new fire station for Mirboo North was funded by the State Labor Government, however work is yet to commence.
