Locals excited for King’s coronation

EVELYN Chetland and Karen Thorp are watching the excitement build for the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. 

Evelyn’s memory of the last coronation was at the age of 9, she remembers a street parade at Kongwak and afterwards receiving a medal, a flag and a booklet about the crown jewels and procession. 
Evelyn says, "The King will do his best to serve Britain and Australia.” 

Karen highlighted that she looks forward to watching the longstanding traditions and pageantry.

Australians can expect the ceremony to begin at 8pm on Saturday, May 6. 

Evelyn’s coronation memorabilia it will be on display for a special church service to celebrate the coronation in Archies Creek at Grace Chapel on Saturday at 10am.
